Airs and graces by Erica James

Erica James is a British author writing romance romances. A breath of fresh air and song of the skylark are a few novels written by her. I would say Airs and Graces is about relationships.

The plot

the story is set in Crantsford. This is a small market town.                                                                                                                                                      

Characters 

Ellen: abandoned by her husband Ellen settles in Cranford.She runs a dry flower shop. I like the car being called Jonney foreigner. Ellen is a kind-hearted woman. Duncan is a person whom Ellen likes. I think she is on a rebound. But along comes Mattew who has feelings for Ellen.

Hermione is Ellen eavesdropping neighbour. Ellen picks up a beggar called Jo-Jo with whom Hermione does not get along. Later on, they become good friends. Also, Hermione has strange set of humour.

Jo-Jo : She has stood up to her dad and is pregnant . When she shift with ellen she feels at home. She says she has had a relationship because she was lonely.

Mathew is a painter who at first is devious of Ellen. I think Mathew and Ellen might be right for each other.

The writing style is easy to understand.I can picture Crantsford while reading.
